“I gained a lot of knowledge through exchange of ideas. It was such an amazing experience for me, as a student, to attend this event because I was empowered to become a better me, like Thenjiwe (one of the speakers) says making a difference starts with you and I.
The highlight for me was when she spoke about the art of networking. As students we tend to shy away from getting to know people and perhaps they might be able to assist us sometime in the future. We seem to think along the lines of gosh who am I to go speak to that lady when she’s sitting in a high profile position.
I learned to speak up and that it’s all about how you present yourself and how you sell yourself. I also learned how to handle myself as an individual especially in interviews. Thulisile Manzini spoke about understanding recruitment, the need for improvement and the critical functions of a working environment as well as the selection process.
It was such an honour to be surrounded by such amazing women.”
